Many names have described the site where the Elbow and Bow Rivers meet; a reflection of the rich natural and human history of the area and the continuous development of the site as a key cultural and social center for the city of Calgary.
The Fort Calgary renovation is an opportunity to realize a significant project that can contribute to the unique context of the site, and one that is also perfectly aligned with the goals and aspirations of the ACE and Lebel & Bouliane collaboration. Just as Fort Calgary served as a community hub commencing in 1875, we aspire to reinvigorate the Interpretive Centre to become the new hub of the East Village and Calgary. We truly believe communities must be the primary driver for every design and the Fort Calgary renovation is the perfect example of community, building and place-making.
